Michael Walsh is the Canadian Coinoisseur. He began collecting coins in 1955 and for the past twenty years he has been seriously involved in the hobby as an executive of local and national organizations, as a bourse dealer at the important North American coin shows and as a major numismatic auctioneer. Numismatic Auctioneer

Since Michael's first public numismatic auction in April 1998, he has enjoyed a steady increase in support from both consignors and bidders, feeding the strong growth in his sales results. He has now conducted twenty-two auctions, of which two have been for the Canadian Association of Numismatic Dealers, two for the Canadian Numismatic Association and thirteen for Torex®.

During the last six years Michael has conducted twelve auctions, realizing over ten million dollars in sales for more than 650 consignors and establishing many dozens of record high prices.

The October 2008 Torex® Auction was Michael's last for a while as he has decided to head out in his new sailboat for a circumnavigation. It is likely that he will be back from time-to-time to organize and conduct another auction, so watch these pages for information on upcoming auctions and on consigning to them.
